On March 7th 2024 the Therapeutics Goods Association (TGA) released updated regulations on advertising prescription medications used by Cosmetic Injectors.

These updates restrict directly and indirectly advertising cosmetic injectable treatments which allude the consumer that prescription medications are administered in certain treatments. Therefore, the use of “anti-wrinkle’’ or ‘dermal filler” can no longer be used nor can “units” or “mls” be used, nor can prices be advertised anywhere including on websites (as this is a public platform). Before and after photos can be posted but without direct reference to the treatment used if it was a prescription medication.

What does this mean for you now when booking a treatment?

Good news!

The usual skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, volumizing, collagen induction therapies and medical treatments offered by Skin Aesthetics by Andrea are still provided however they are now just worded in the booking system in a different way to meet TGA regulations.

As always, a fully informed consultation will include a full-face assessment and a medical history review to ascertain suitability for treatment. Discussion also about possible risks and side effects, realistic expected outcomes, and disclosure of the cost before proceeding are part of your skin treatment journey including a highly recommended complimentary 2-week post treatment follow up.
